CO₂ is a natural refrigerant and has an ozone depletion potential (ODP) of zero and a global warming potential (GWP) of 1. CO₂ refrigerant is a non HFC refrigerant.Traditional HFC refrigeration systems affect climate change in two distinct ways: direct and indirect contribution. Direct contribution results from the release of refrigerants into the atmosphere. Indirect contribution refers to the energy used to operate traditional refrigeration equipment. The less energy required to operate the equipment, the lower the impact on the environment.

- Using proven technology and ground-breaking design, the Revere™ CO₂ Heat Pump system is powered by electricity and utilizes heat extracted from the air to produce energy and make hot water.A Heat Pump is a highly efficient eco-friendly system that converts one unit of electrical energy into four units of heating energy, achieving significant cost savings compared to alternative heating systems using electricity or gas.
The REVERE CO₂ Air to Water Heat Pump is the ideal system for providing reliable space heating in large commercial applications. With an average COP of 3.3, this unit is the perfect choice for supermarkets, shopping centres and large retail spaces.
The unique capacity of the Revere™ CO₂ Heat Pump to produce 90°C hot water makes it suitable for use in a wide range of industrial, commercial and residential projects, including:- shopping centres

- dairies
- apartments
- hotels
- restaurants

Instead of the more conventional ammonia or haloalkane (R134A) refrigerant gases, Revere™ CO₂ Heat Pumps use supercritical carbon dioxide as the refrigerant. The technology offers a means of energy conservation and reduces the emission of greenhouse gas. From the energy output side, the operational characteristics of the heat pump are different to conventional systems (such as electric/gas/oil boilers or electric heaters). With conventional systems, 1kW input of energy provides less than 1 kW of output energy or heat. With a CO₂ heat pump system, every 1kW of input energy consumed produces an average of 3.3 x the input as output energy or heat by extracting heat from the outside air.
Designed for Space and Energy EfficiencyWith a heating performance of 80 kW, the CHP- 080Y2 was developed to reduce high hot water supply costs and large space requirements that inevitably occur in facilities requiring a large hot water supply. The structure of the Y-shaped frame reduces power consumption and allows units to be installed close together. The heating performance can be switched between three modes in order to adjust the energy to suit how you use hot water, and performance does not decrease* in temperatures down to -15°C.
This flexible system is suitable for a wide range of facilities that use large volumes of hot water, and is durable enough to provide a steady hot water supply for a long time.

- Key FeaturesSpace Saving
Unique Y shape design allows units to be placed close together which achieves 30% reduction in floor space occupied by the units.

Weight SavingIncorporating cutting-edge engineering and design, this heat pump achieves a 30% reduction in product mass, resulting in a weight of just 690kg, making it the lightest in its class. By selecting premium materials and optimizing the structure and configuration, the heat pump not only offers benefits in terms of performance but also leads to cost savings when it comes to roof mounting, as there is less need for structural reinforcement.
Additionally, the heat pump is designed with a 1.5G earthquake resistance rating, ensuring durability and stability in the face of seismic activity.
Energy SavingThe heat pump is designed to achieve optimum air flow and reduced power consumption, leading to superior performance and energy efficiency.

The heat pump features a streamlined airflow between the fan and the heat exchanger (HEX), enabling efficient heat absorption from the air.
The reduced base width allows improved air flow. The heat pump incorporates compact fans designed for reduced power consumption, ensuring both energy efficiency and optimal performance.
How It WorksThe Revere™ CO2 Hot water heat pump is an energy efficient electric heat pump that uses heat extracted from the air to heat water for industrial, commercial and residential applications. A hot water heat pump removes energy from a low temperature source (ambient air or waste water) and moves it to a high temperature hot water tank.
Acoustics for Sensitive AreasRevere™ CO2 heat pumps have a very quiet operation output.

Sample SpecificationStructureBase in galvanized steel and coated with textured polyester powder for exteriors. Galvanized sheet steel and textured powder coated polyester for exterior structural work. The compressor section is accessible on 2 sides thanks to easily removable panels to simplify all maintenance and/or check procedures. The vibration isolation can be achieved by rubber or spring shock absorbers available as an option.CompressorsBitzer Semi-hermetic reciprocating 4-cylinder compressor FOR THE CHP80Y2 designed to operate with CO2 refrigerant, which is isolated acoustically, complete with internal thermal protection of the windings and mounted on appropriate anti-vibration supports. The electric motor is inverter driven three-phase induction motor.Heat Exchanger (Condenser)Tube in tube copper specially designed for use with CO2 refrigerant.Finned Block Heat Exchanger (Evaporator)Blue fin coated copper heat exchanger. The coils create an even and efficient air flow. The coils have been optimized as evaporators to allow maximum acceleration of the defrosting phases with obvious benefits in terms of integrated efficiency of the entire cycle. The coils are provided with an external protective grid.Fan Motor GroupEbm-Papst Electric fan with EC motor directly keyed to the axial fan with internal thermal protection on the windings, complete with safety protection grid and dedicated supporting structure. The unique aerodynamic profile of the blades allows extraordinary air and acoustic performances. The fan is housed in a special profile which optimizes ventilation.
The condensation control under pressure continuously and automatically adjusts the fan speed, further limiting the unit’s noise emissions during night-time operation and with partial loads.Remote Monitoring and External ControlThe solution put forward allows for a cloud-based platform to couple into the control panel and remotely monitor the leaving water temperature of the field leaving water, fault output of either heat pump or potentially enable a backup electric element as an option long term.Pipe WorkAll pipe work is type B approved copper with 25mm insulation on pipe work, brackets at correct spacings and flexstrut galvanized steel to add extra support.Cooling CircuitThe cooling circuit is built using only brand components and is manufactured by qualified operators. Water CircuitStandard units are equipped with hydraulic connections to the outside with JIS fittings.
Single driven water pump with proportional valve.
The pump group is integrated into the machine structure and is arranged in such a way that its motors are always cooled by outside air.Reticulation Hot Water LoopThe system shall be able to increase the storage hot water temperature based on a program design to optimize the performance and use “off peak power” eg before 5 am heat the storage tanks to 70ºC which will allow the CO2 heat pumps to operate on a higher COP. The COP (Coefficient of Performance is relative to the ambient temperatures) the afternoon peak shall only heat the water to 65ºC which more than enough hot water for he demands / showers after the football match. We know with the Revere CO2 CHP80Y2 can have an inlet water temperature of 60ºC. (this is unlike other units on the market that can only operate if the return water is below 30ºC).WatermarkThe hot water solution we have put forward comes with a certificate of compliance (plumbing certificate) and water mark approval number 23261.FAQsCHP80Y2 can provide exceptional output at very low ambient conditions able to operate in minus 20ºC and still provide hot water.CHP80Y2 can provide anywhere from 65 to 90ºC water in very cold conditions – set point is adjustable on the LCD screenYes many Revere CO2 heat pumps have been installed on heating applications by selecting the correct air handler coil with inlet and outlet temperature to suit the heat pumps best performances- eg Heating coil selected at 50/30°C or hydronic radiation system with 60/40°C flow and return water temperatures. - General Performance Data of a Standard Unit
